Synthpop and you don't stop.
So there is a remix contest at Indaba Music until September 1st that gives you the chance to remix "My Brain is Working Overtime" by Rivers Cuomo of Weezer fame. This was a fun way to spend a summer day before returning to school. Below is my entry and you can download it for free and Jazzercise to it with your lime green spandex. I tried to channel remix master Shep Pettibone for this one. Hope you enjoy, and feel free to download.

Travis Devries
I have been playing keyboard now for a few months with Travis Devries, lead singer of the Seattle band the Turn-Ons. Being a huge Turn-Ons fan, this has been a great experience. We will be playing our second show at Cameo in Brooklyn. Details are listed on Travis' Myspace (just click the link above). One of the tracks, Shoulder to Shoulder (on Myspace in full) has become the object of my remix affection. Currently, I am putting some loops together for it. Some sections sound like garbage and others like magic. Have to definitely put some more time into this. Just a sneak peak of what could be. Can't decide whether to go the remix route or rerecord the track as a totally different beast. Monday, March 2, 2009
Yea! Snow Day and Harold Ramis

Somewhere between Shoegaze, Disco Punk, and Electro Ambient came this gem. I'll tell ya Internet, once these drums get a bit more dynamic and the guitar tighter its going to be a hot tamale. Maybe words?
Tentatively titled Egon, after the greatest of all Ghostbusters, this track features me and my snowed in brother across the river utilizing some guitars, bass, a Synsonic drum set from like 1988, and the power of Reason.

Blood Royal

Name taken from the Dune series, Blood Royal was a collaboration between myself and BD1982, which seems like only yesterday, but is probably three years old. BD was nice enough to send me these files and I uploaded them to the Soundcloud links below. Each of those gems sounds different than the other. All sorts of gadgets were used to make these four tracks, two samplers, a bass, Peter Venkman, an old school space echo, a Philly apartment, and some production magic. "Hot Pants" is a club anthem that never was. Bring it back. BD1982 is still hard at work making music in the land of Japan. Also, it seems since we made these tracks the name of our project has coincidentally been used for some hentai, totally not what we were referencing. Keep your tentacles to yourself please.
